(English below) Vakar, Tarptautinės Holokausto aukų atminimo dienos išvakarėse, susitikome prie Čijunės Sugiharos paminklo ir pilietiškai pagerbėme Holokausto aukų atminimą. Minėjime pasisakė Vilniaus Gaono žydų istorijos muziejaus l. e. p. direktorė Ieva Šadzevičienė, LR Seimo pirmininkas Juozas Olekas, kultūros viceministrė Renata Kurmin, Lietuvos žydų (litvakų) bendruomenės pirmininkė Faina Kukliansky, Vokietijos ambasadorius Lietuvoje dr. Cornelius Zimmermann, Lenkijos ambasados Vilniuje vadovas Grzegorz Marek Poznański ir Japonijos ambasadorius Lietuvoje Shimizu Shinsuke.
Holokausto aukas pagerbė gausi Lietuvoje reziduojančių diplomatų bendruomenė, politikai, kultūros organizacijų atstovai, Vokietijos Federacinės Respublikos kariai. Po pasisakymų kiekvienas svečias buvo pakviestas uždegti atminimo žvakutę.
„Uždegdama šią žvakelę, pagerbiu aukas. Mes visi čia susirinkę patvirtiname savo įsipareigojimą – saugoti istorinę tiesą, perduoti atmintį ateities kartoms. [...] Prisimename Lietuvos žydus – vaikus, moteris, vyrus. Prisimename ne tik jų mirtį, bet ir jų gyvenimą. Kalbą. Dainas. Kasdienybę. Svajones.“ – sakė Ieva Šadzevičienė.
Po šio minėjimo susirinkome Samuelio Bako muziejuje, kuriame skambėjo koncertas „Berjozkele“. Lenkijos atlikėja Ola Bilińska kartu su kontrabosininku Łukasz Owczynnikow pakerėjo susirinkusiuosius moderniomis prieškarinių jidiš lopšinių ir vakarinių dainų interpretacijomis.
Koncerto klausė LR Seimo pirmininkas Juozas Olekas, LR teisingumo ministrė Rita Tamašunienė, kultūros viceministrė Renata Kurmin, Izraelio ambasadorė Shelly Hugler Livne, Vokietijos ambasadorius dr. Cornelius Zimmermann, Lenkijos ambasados vadovas Grzegorz Marek Poznański, Ispanijos ambasadorius José Fernando Fernández-Aguayo Muñoz.
„Tegu šios dainos, ši muzika, primena mums ne tik praeities tragedijas, bet ir gyvybės jėgą, žmonių kūrybiškumą ir gebėjimą išsaugoti tapatybę net sunkiausiais laikais.“ – prieš koncertą sakė VGŽIM l. e. p. direktorė Ieva Šadzevičienė.
Nuoširdžiai dėkojame Lenkijos Respublikos ambasadai Vilniuje ir Lenkijos institutui Vilniuje už suorganizuotą nuostabų koncertą ir ilgalaikį bendradarbiavimą.
Šiandien atmindami Holokausto metu žiauriai nužudytus Lietuvos ir Europos žydus, jų garbei tariame: Daugiau niekada.

Yesterday, on the eve of International Holocaust Remembrance Day, we gathered at the Chiune Sugihara Monument to honor the memory of the victims of the Holocaust. Speeches were delivered by Ieva Šadzevičienė, Acting Director of the Vilna Gaon Museum of Jewish History; Speaker of the Seimas of the Republic of Lithuania Juozas Olekas; Chairwoman of the Lithuanian Jewish (Litvak) Community Faina Kukliansky; Vice-Minister of Culture Renata Kurmin; German Ambassador to Lithuania Dr. Cornelius Zimmermann; Head of the Embassy of Poland in Vilnius Grzegorz Marek Poznański; and Ambassador of Japan to Lithuania Shimizu Shinsuke.
The victims of the Holocaust were honored by a large community of diplomats residing in Lithuania, political leaders, representatives of cultural institutions, and soldiers of the Federal Republic of Germany. #WeRemember pins were distributed to those gathered, and following the speeches, each guest was invited to light a candle of remembrance.
“By lighting this candle, we honor the victims. And we reaffirm our commitment – to safeguard historical truth, and to pass on memory to future generations. […] We remember Lithuanian Jews - children, women, men. We remember not only their deaths, but their lives. Their language. Their songs. Their daily life. Their dreams,” said Ieva Šadzevičienė, Acting Director of the Vilna Gaon Museum of Jewish History, during the commemoration.
Afterwards, we gathered at the Samuel Bak Museum for the concert “Berjozkele.” Polish singer Ola Bilińska, together with double bassist Łukasz Owczynnikow, captivated the audience with modern interpretations of pre-war Yiddish lullabies and evening songs.
Among the attendees were Speaker of the Seimas of the Republic of Lithuania Juozas Olekas, Minister of Justice of the Republic of Lithuania Rita Tamašunienė, Vice-Minister of Culture Renata Kurmin, Ambassador of Israel Shelly Hugler Livne, German Ambassador to Lithuania Dr. Cornelius Zimmermann, Head of the Embassy of Poland Grzegorz Marek Poznański, and Ambassador of Spain José Fernando Fernández-Aguayo Muñoz.
“May these songs and this music remind us not only of the tragedies of the past, but also of the power of life, human creativity, and the ability to preserve identity even in the most difficult times,” said Ieva Šadzevičienė, Acting Director of the Vilna Gaon Museum of Jewish History, prior to the concert.

Today, in memory of the Lithuanian and European Jews brutally murdered during the Holocaust, we say in their honor: Never again.
