CONFERENCE ABOUT HOLOCAUST EDUCATION HELD IN THE MUSEUM

On December 11–12 Annual Review Conference on Holocaust Education, organized by the European March of the Living Network, was held in the museum's Tolerance Center. The conference was attended by 34 teachers from Lithuania, Austria, Belgium and Greece, who discussed opportunities and challenges related to Holocaust education, listened to lectures by Prof. Šarūnas Liekis and Dr. Nerijus Šepetys, had a guided tour in the museum, attended workshop “Teaching about Holocaust through the paintings of Samuel Bak” and met with a member of Lithuanian Parliament, signatory of Lithuania’s Act of Independence Emanuelis Zingeris. Partners of the event: the International Commission for the Evaluation of the Crimes of the Nazi and Soviet Occupation Regimes in Lithuania and the Vilna Gaon State Jewish Museum.
