On May 25-27, at the initiative of the Consulate General of Lithuania in São Paulo and Brasil's Lithuanian Community, festival “Labas!" was organized in São Paulo. During the festival, exhibition "Moments. From the Lithuanian Jewish History" featuring 47 unique photos from the collections of the Vilna Gaon State Jewish Museum was opened in Ema Klabin Museum.
In the opening event, Vilna Gaon State Jewish Museum was represented by its Deputy Director and curator of the exhibition Dr. Kamilė Rupeikaitė. She presented not only the photo exhibition, but also the upcoming Litvak Culture and Identity Museum, which is scheduled to open in 2020 and will function as the new branch of the Vilna Gaon State Jewish Museum. K. Rupeikaitė also visited important venues of Jewish Culture, including club “Hebraika”, Lasar Segal Museum, upcoming São Paulo Jewish Museum as well as Jewish Immigration Memorial and discussed cooperation opportunities.
Exhibition “Moments. From the Lithuanian Jewish History” will be open in Ema Klabin Museum until June 27. Later it will be exhibited in other venues of São Paulo, a metropolis with a large Litvak community.
