Solomonas Teitelbaumas
Solomonas Teitelbaumas (b. 1972, Kaunas) - painter. 1997 graduated from Vilnius Academy of Arts (teachers P. R. Vaitiekūnas, A. Šaltenis). Since 1997 he has participated in exhibitions in Lithuania and abroad, individual exhibitions in Vilnius (1997-99, 2001-03, 2005, 2009, 2017, 2019), Weimar (1999), Kaunas (1999, 2002), Paris (2001), Klaipėda (2002, 2006, 2015), Washington (2004), Moscow (2011), Siauliai (2012), Brussels (2013), Dordrecht (2014), Palanga (2018). His work is influenced by the tradition of Expressionism, the Paris School and the Ars group of artists. He painted himself, his surroundings, mostly images of the old towns of Vilnius and Kaunas, churches, monasteries, gardens, cemeteries (Jewish Cemetery series 1997, Cherry Orchard. Blooming 2003, Old House 2005, Remembering Rembrandt. The Old Arch Bridge and the Old Linden Tree 2014), i.e. the interiors of one's own and others' dwellings and studios (Chinese Still Life 2005, The Emergence of Mephistopheles 2006). In her works, she highlights the peculiarities of landscapes, buildings, human posture, movement and character, creates expressive forms with broad, nervous brushstrokes, and reveals a unique mood.
