Have you ever considered how lies can be presented as truth, changing the way an entire nation thinks?
From September 9, 2025, the Vilna Gaon Museum of Jewish History's Holocaust Exposition will host "State of Deception: The Power of Nazi Propaganda," an exhibition prepared by the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum. This exhibition will help visitors understand what makes people vulnerable to propaganda and how it contributed to the tragedy of World War II, which claimed millions of lives. The majority of Lithuania's Jewish community was among the victims. This we will soon commemorate on September 23, the Day of Remembrance for the Victims of the Genocide of Lithuanian Jews. Therefore, the exhibition serves not only as an important history lesson, but also as a warning to critically evaluate the information we receive, recognize lies, and resist manipulation.
This poster set was based on the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum's exhibition State of Deception: The Power of Nazi Propaganda, and produced in partnership with the Holocaust and the United Nations Outreach Programme in all United Nations official languages. A living memorial to the Holocaust, the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum inspires citizens and leaders worldwide to confront hatred, prevent genocide, and promote human dignity.
