Doron Polak performance „A Virtual Memorial Vilnius 2013“

The dance performance by famous Israeli artist Doron Polak „A Virtual Memorial Vilnius 2013“ took place on the 25th ofSeptember, 2013, in the Tolerance Center of the Vilna Gaon State Jewish Museum within the frames of the IV World Litvak Congress as the part of the Shoa Film Festival, coordinated by Wilfried Agricola de Cologne.

The confrontation between alive and the dead body: this might be the essence of the self retrieval and the remembrance. The travel of the body, which was born only 8 years after the atrocities: from the thoughts of young and naive boy, looking for the family roots in the free country, tortured by the wars. The trip as the Sisyphus trial to understand the stories of nondescript cruelty...

Shoa Film Festival organizer artist Wilfried Agricola de Cologne

Member of performance creative group, photographer Eitan Vitkon, presents the idea of the show

Polak is looking for the historical truth in the mass murder sight in Latvia‘s forests

Looking for „the naked truth“: white shread is the symbol of the new soul, looking for ones, who have passed away

The rope: symbol of the humiliation – victim bonded with a rope, being tortured: we can guess who is holding another side of the rope (the executioner)
