THE PREWIEV OF THE MOVIE „MEETING WITH NATIONALISTS“ AND THE ROUND TABLE DISCUSSION ABOUT THE RISING RADICAL NATIONALISM IN LITHUANIA

On the 7th of March, the prewiev of the documentary „Meeting With Nationalists“  (author of the idea Markas Zingeris, 2012), directed by Jonas Ohman,  and the round table discussion about the rising ideas of the radical nationalism in Lithuania took place in the VGSJM Tolerance Center.

Journalists Tomas Dapkus and Ginas Dabašinskas, Director of the movie Jonas Ohman, leader of the Lithuanian National Youth Union Julius Panka, Dr. Violeta Davoliūtė, political scientist Alvydas Medalinskas participated in the discussion, lead by the Director of the Vilna Gaon State Jewish Museum Markas Zingeris.

All over Europe, right-wing extremism is on the rise. This is also the case in Lithuania. In March 2012, the Tolerance Center of the Vilna Gaon State Jewish Museum in Vilnius arranged a special excursion: some leading Lithuanian Righ-Wing Nationalists participated. After the guided tour the discussion took place in the Tolerance Center. The new Jonas Ohmanas
documentary is based on this discussion and the tour.

Lithuanian press widely covered the event:
