Said that in July, 1941, Jewish familes of towns Skaudvilė, Gaurės and Batakiai and from surrounding areas were driven into the Batakiai railroad station. They were held here in 5 storage areas. 2,000 people were taken prisoner and taken to the killing site in carts. Three pits were dug (1 was not used).

Russians dug an anti-tank ditch in 1941 by the Žyniai-Kudirkos Naumiestis road against a German invasion. Germans used the ditch for executions. Victims were usually brought twice per week from Kudirkos Naumiestis. They were undressed, drived to the ditch and shot, after that a very think layer of lime or earth was sprinkled over the corpses.
