Russians dug an anti-tank ditch in 1941 by the Žyniai-Kudirkos Naumiestis road against a German invasion. Germans used the ditch for executions. Victims were usually brought twice per week from Kudirkos Naumiestis. They were undressed, drived to the ditch and shot, after that a very think layer of lime or earth was sprinkled over the corpses.
