The Pathways of the Promised Land

The opening of the scenography artist’s Filomena Linčiūtė-Vaitiekūnienė exhibition, “The Pathways of the Promised Land”, took place at the Centre of Tolerance of Vilna Gaon Jewish State Museum, on the 14th of May, 2009. The artist calls her drawings from Israel “the natural exterior drawings from the trip”. Pastel drawings record the panorama’s of the visited cities, the palm trees, growing on the rocky terrains, remembering the Biblical times, the deep blue sky of the Promised Land. Filomena Linčiūtė – Vaitiekūnienė also presents the cycle of three oil paintings, named “Signs”. This cycle was born in the studio and it was inspired by the journey impressions.
