Exhibition „Lithuanian Jews behind the Iron Curtain“ presented in Tbilisi

 
   

December 3, 2013, Round table discussion and the opening of the exhibition „To Stay Human ir Inhuman Conditions: Courage and Creativity in Vilnius and Warsaw Ghettos“ took place in UNESCO headquarters in Paris (Salles Miro, 7 Places de Fontenoy, 75352 Paris)

 

October 27-29, 2013, Director of the Vilna Gaon State Jewish Museum Markas Zingeris participated in the international conference, dedicated for commemoration of the 70 years of the Vilnius Ghetto liquidation. Conference, organized by Kondrad Adenauer Fund (Konrad Adenauer Stiftung) took place in Berlin. Zingeris read the presentation on the subject "Building from the ashes: reclaiming the Jewish narrative in Lithuania today"  

April 22, 2013, The movie "The Pit of Life and Torment" was presented in Germany on the occasion of the Aachens Charlemagne Prize award for the President of Lithuania D. Grybauskaitė.

Zingeris presented the Museum  publication album-catalogue “Vilnius Ghetto Posters” at the Lithuanian booth. During the book fair M. Zingeris met with Swedish students and spoke about his writings. He took part in a literary evening with Latvian and Estonian writers. He gave an interview to magazine „Goteborg Post“.  
September 15, 2008, R. Kostanian gave an interview to the Jewish Press. She spoke about Jewish life in contemporary Lithuania, the problems of Jewish partisans, anti-Semitism and the museum’s role in teaching tolerance.

November 17-21, 2007 the congress of the association of European Jewish museums took place in Munich with director Markas Zingeris of the Vilna Gaon Jewish State Museum in attendance. Guests visited the Bavarian Jewish and other famous museums such as the Munich Kunsthaus and the Maximilianmuseum, and familiarized themselves with judaica held in state and private museums. Issues regarding the provenance of items were discused and lectures were provided on the use of modern technology in exhibitions. The collection of the modern Munich Jewish museum and its work with the public were discussed. The next congress is to take place in Amsterdam in 2008. Vilna Gaon Jewish State Museum director Markas Zingeris proposed hosting the meeting in Vilnius in 2009 or 2010

 

May 23, 2007, national Japanese television network NHK conducted an interview with deputy director Rachele Kostanian conerning Chiune Sugihara.
