A worrisome moment in the Vilna Ghetto which stayed in the memory of thirteen-year-old Bak.
A drawing by a twelve/thirteen-year-old boy made in the Displaced Persons camp in Landsberg, Germany. The drawing conveys memories from the Vilna Ghetto. This expressive work imparts the emotions of frightened people, which is reflected not only in their faces, but also in the postures of the groups of people. In the centre of the drawing is the figure of a boy staring helplessly at the viewer: he does not take part in the conversations and is fearful of the fate that awaits him. There is no doubt that the boy’s eyes reflect the experience of Samuel Bak.
