Yesterday, we opened the exhibition “Jacques Lipchitz. Sculptures-Pilgrims” in Vilnius!
We are delighted that works by the world-renowned Litvak sculptor Jacques Lipchitz, presented in Lithuania for the first time and brought from the collection of the Institut Valencià d’Art Modern (IVAM), are now open to visitors at the Samuel Bak Museum in Vilnius.
The many guests gathered for the opening evening were welcomed by Lithuanian Minister of Culture Lukas Alsys, Director of the Vilna Gaon Museum of Jewish History Sergejus Kanovičius, Deputy Head of Mission of the Embassy of the Kingdom of Spain Iván Pérez Maroto, and Chairwoman of the Lithuanian Jewish (Litvak) Community Faina Kukliansky. The opening event began with a concert by singer Sandra Carrillo and guitarist Paulius Volkovas, presented by the Embassy of Spain.
The event was also attended by Israeli Ambassador Shelly Hugler Livne, Director of the French Institute in Lithuania Pascal Sliwanski and Cultural Attaché of the French Embassy Clémence Viaud, Deputy Head of Mission of the Italian Embassy Leonardo Gnisci, as well as other representatives of Lithuania’s cultural, artistic and diplomatic communities.
Thank you to everyone who joined us yesterday.
Tomorrow, 17 July, at 6 p.m., the second part of the exhibition will be presented at the Jacques Lipchitz Museum with the opening of “Jacques Lipchitz. Sculptures-Pilgrims” in Druskininkai. Everyone is welcome!
