DISCUSSION ABOUT BANALITY OF EVIL HELD AT THE TOLERANCE CENTER
Markas Zingeris and Doc. Dr. Nerijus Šepetys  German diplomat Milena Dech said the greeting word

On the 31st of January, discussion „Banality of Evil“ with the director of the Vilna Gaon State Jewish Museum, writer Markas Zingeris, and the historian, Docent Dr. Nerijus Šepetys, and screening of the biographical film “Hannah Arendt“ (2013) were held at the museum’s Tolerance Center in order to commemorate the International Holocaust Remembrance Day.

The event attracted a large audience of around 100 people. The greeting word in fluent Lithuanian was said by the German diplomat Milena Dech since the event was held in cooperation with the German Embassy. Prior to the movie screening, Markas Zingeris and doc. Dr. Nerijus Šepetys were engaged in an intriguing discussion about the banality of evil and its relevance today. The screening of the biographical film “Hannah Arendt” about the famous philosopher, who coined the term “banality of evil”, followed and gave even more food for thought.
