Visit of the delegation from the Holocaust museum Houston

Markas Zingeris, Dr. Kelly J. Zúñiga and Ieva Šadzevičienė discussed cooperation possibilities

On July 7, Dr. Kelly J. Zúñiga, CEO of the Holocaust Museum Houston, accompanied by Carol Manley, Director of Collections & Exhibitions, and Tamara Savage, Managing Director & Director of Public Program, visited our museum. In 2019, Samuel Bak Gallery will be opened in the Holocaust Museum Houston. Therefore, the guests were especially interested to learn more about the opening of Samuel Bak Museum in Vilnius, scheduled for November, and cooperation possibilities. These topics were discussed in a meeting with VGSJM Director Markas Zingeris, Deputy Director Jūratė Razumienė and Head of museum’s Tolerance Center, Ieva Šadzevičienė. Dr. Zúñiga, C. Manley and T. Savage were shown the future premises of S. Bak Museum, part of the paintings which will be exhibited there and some of the most precious exhibits of the Vilna Gaon State Jewish Museum, such as artefacts from the destroyed Great Synagogue of Vilna.

The guests were shown the artefacts from the Great Synagogue of Vilna
